芸術家になりたいと思っていました。

おじいさんは、骨董品や古美術が好きで集めていました。
育った家は、洋裁を家業にしていて、
いつも綺麗なマテリアル（布）がありました。
「こんな美しい布が自分で作れたらなあ。」と
工芸科染色コースのある短大に進学し、卒業後も、地方の公募展などに出品したりしていたのに子育てや、親の介護で夢を諦めて、ただの主婦やってました。
しかし、私の手仕事を世に出してみようとこの「にえもつの里」をオープンしました。
お気に入りの一品を一つ一つお作りさせていただきます。

I have been to want to be an artist.
My grandfather has loved and collected antique goods and old works of art. My family owned a dressmaking business, and there was a lot of beautiful material at home.
Thanks to the environment, I started to have a dream to make these beautiful materials by myself.
I decided to learn the dyeing method in college. Even after graduation, I kept creating my works and submitting these works for a local exhibition. However, due to caring for children and other family members, I gave up my dream and dedicated my time to my family.
But, now, I decided to start the shop of my art and handmade.
I put my heart into each product to make it to be your favorite.

ろうけつ染めとは What is wax-resist dyeing?

歴史 History

天平時代、大陸から色々な文化が入ってき、美しい布地を作る技術も伝わりました。

布地を染めることは、古代の人にはとても贅沢で身分の高い人にしか使えない色もありました。

絞り染めの纐纈（こうけち）
板締めの夾纈（きょうけち）
ろうけつ染めの臈纈（ろうけち）

古代からの技法が現在まで、連綿と受け伝えられ
今もなお、日本の着物文化に息づいています。
Around A.C. 700, Japan imported various cultures. One of the imported things is a technique to make beautiful material.
Dyeing is a luxury for people of that age. Some colors are only allowed to use by nobles.
Dyeing techniques called as below have been inherited to the present. These are still alive in the culture of the Japanese Kimono.

染色方法 Dyeing method

化学染料が登場し、庶民も気軽に色々な色の衣服を着ることができるようになったのは、近代になってからです。

それまでは、草や、木の実や、土などを使って染色していいました。
絹などは比較的に染まりやすく、平安朝には12単と呼ばれる、衣服もありました。

しかし、庶民の衣服に使われていた木綿や麻は「藍染め」もしくは「紅花」で染めることしかできず、
近代に化学染料が登場するまでは、味気ないものでした。
化学染料によって綿製品にろうけつ染めの技法が使えるようになりました。

私の使用している染料は、染工場で使用している染料でとても堅牢な染上がりです。
お洗濯などのお手入れも簡単ですので、生活の中でお役に立てることと思います。
Since modern times, non-rich people came to be able to various colored clothes, thanks to chemical dyes.
Until then, It was common to dye with grass, fruits, and mud, etc. For example, silk is relatively easy to be dyed. In Heian era (from 794 to 1185), the dress called Juni-Hitoe which is made of silk appeared.
However, clothes for non-rich people are made by cotton or linen which are difficult to dye, and only are able to be dyed by indigo or safflower. So, people don't have many options for the color until the modern age. Chemical dyes enable people to use the method of wax-resist dyeing for cotton.
As the dye I use is the dye used in the dyeing factory, the color stays on the material well. Our dyed goods resist well for washing, so please enjoy it without any worries!
